Smart Divorce without Litigation Cost

Close to two decades ago I launched a financial planning career. I obtained MBA and became a Certified Financial Planner™. I saw an alarming pattern. Divorce left people in financial ruin for many years. I saw bankruptcies and foreclosures that often resulted from divorce agreements that did not take the future of either party into account. That is when I augmented my career and added divorce mediation to my practice.

With my unique skill sets: extensive financial background, mediation training, and preparation of hundreds of parenting plans, I am able to help couples take an intellectual approach to their divorce and remain civil and respectful, which also allows them to co-parent effectively. I’ve helped hundreds of divorcing couples reach a settlement without involving expensive attorneys or the courts.

Divorcing couples need financial information and education to help them look beyond their divorce date and consider how the settlement will impact them in the long term. Crafting a child-centered parenting plan is a lynch pin of our mediated sessions. The goal is to cause the least amount of disruption for the children and lessen the trauma of divorce. I facilitate a dialogue to help parents examine forward looking parenting options.

I wrote a book, The Bedroom Elephant: a guide to successful divorce. In the book, I use real life examples and provide tools to help couples understand what to expect, how to take the first steps, what information to gather and explain what financial and parenting decisions they will have to make… all to be able to negotiate a reasonable settlement and recover financially after divorce. Basically how to get a “good” divorce because divorcing “badly” will cause life long battle.

Being passionate about education, it had been my honor to have appeared for several years as a financial resident expert on Fox News TV, addressing millions of viewers, breaking down and making sense of financial topics and issues. I continue to provide personal financial and investment planning for individuals, especially after their Divorce Decree has been issued.

I’ve mediated over 2000 cases and assisted with over 50 collaborative cases.
